Stainless steel is one of the most durable materials you can wear every single day. It doesn't rust, it doesn't turn your skin green, and it holds up through a lot. That's exactly why we love it.

But even the toughest pieces deserve a little attention. The difference between jewellery that looks dull after three months and jewellery that still catches the light after three years is really just about how you treat it.

We created this guide from our own experience wearing these pieces every day. Here's what we've learned actually matters:

Rinse it after wearing. Sweat, sunscreen, and perfume build up over time. A quick rinse under warm water at the end of the day is honestly all you need most of the time. Pat it dry completely before storing, leftover moisture is what dulls the shine!

Keep it away from harsh chemicals. Bleach, chlorine, and strong cleaning products are the real enemies here. Stainless steel is resistant to a lot, but these will ruin the jewellery over time. Put your pieces on after applying perfume, hairspray, or lotion - not before.

Store pieces separately. Even stainless steel can get scratched if you throw everything into the same drawer. A small pouch or a dedicated tray makes a huge difference. It also means you can actually see what you own, which makes getting dressed so much more fun.

When your pieces need a deeper clean, use a soft cloth with warm water and a tiny drop of mild dish soap. Work in small circles, rinse thoroughly, and dry completely. That's really it!

Stainless steel is water-resistant — not waterproof! You can wear it in the rain or wash your hands without worrying. But we'd recommend taking it off before swimming in a chlorinated pool or soaking in a hot tub for a long time.

At the end of the day, your jewellery is meant to be worn. Don't keep it locked away being precious about it - just give it a little love when it needs it, and it'll stay with you for years. <33
